Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State has approved the appointment of Hon. Chief Henry A. Sakpra as General Manager of Delta State Social Investment Programme (DSSIP), with immediate effect.
The announcement of the appointment was contained in a statement issued by Dr. Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) made available to journalists in Asaba.
Dr. Emu said that the appointment is in line with the provisions of the Delta State Social Investment Programme (DSSIP) Law, 2025, which provides for the alleviation of poverty, hunger and other forms of social deprivation among citizens of the state without discrimination.
According to Dr. Emu, “the programme is also mandated to improve the socio-economic conditions of Deltans, particularly at the grassroots, through the prompt delivery of services aimed at poverty reduction and alleviation.
“It is further empowered to undertake other activities necessary for the effective achievement of its objectives.”
Dr. Emu further stated that the appointment is aimed at strengthening the institutional framework of the programme and enhancing social inclusion and opportunities for all, in furtherance of the M-O-R-E Agenda of the Oborevwori administration.
