Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude

The Head of Personnel Management of Warri South Local Government Council, Delta State, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude, has bagged an Excellent Service Award from from the Frontline News Media.

According to the Director of Administration, Frontline News Media, Dr. Dan. Dike Awana, who spoke on behalf of the newspaper, the award was in recognition of her “effective, efficient and wonderful services which have impacted humanity.”

He also said the award was to recognize “her heart-felt contributions toward the socio-economic development of Delta State in particular and Nigeria at large.”

“We looked at the names given to us and discovered that she (Dr. Igbrude) addressed challenges such as lack of electricity and inadequate office furniture at Oshimili South, Aniocha North and Bomadi Local Government Councils.

“She also addressed insecurity in Warri South Local Government for the two months, she stood in for Chairman of the Local Government Area and related very well with traditional institutions in the area,” Awana said.

According to Awana also, “You have written your name in Gold, you have led a remarkable life full of accomplishments through diligence, integrity, humility and hard-work. You have served with distinction, working tirelessly to advance the overall development of Delta State.”

Responding, Dame Minnie Igbrude, dedicated the award to her late husband, Rt. Hon. Young Igbrude, who she described as “the best husband in the world.”

“I want to dedicate this award to my late husband, Rt. (Hon.) Young Daniel (YD) Igbrude, who made me a woman of substance. YD Igbrude was the Best husband in the world.

“No one has anything negative to say about him. I have received over 12 awards as Mrs. Igbrude. This is the second I am receiving in Warri South Local Government Council.

“I am able to empower 450 widows, because of the foundation YD Igbrude laid for me. The reason behind the award is giving me joy. I am nowhere without the workers in all councils I have served. Love from people give me encouragement to do more. YD gave it to me and I am giving it out. I am always the when people are happy,” she said.

Present at the award ceremony was the Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Mr. Joseph Oribioye, Treasurer to the Local Government, Mr. Ugborugbo Moses, the Assistant Director of Administration in Warri South Council, Mr. Geoffrey Anamali.

Others are; the Heads of Environment, Community Development and Education Departments, Mrs. Stella Mode, Mrs. Ruth Ukuko, Mrs. Bazunu as well as the Chairman of NULGE, Warri South Local Government Council, Comrade Raymond Emiko.
