Love Afodus Standard School, a private school in Igbide community of Isoko South Local government Area of Delta State,
has emerged winner of the 6th Edition of Comrade Sheriff Mulade Quiz & Essay competition organised for secondary schools in Delta South Senatorial district.

The initiator of the competition, Mulade Sheriff on behalf of CEPEJ, presented various cash prizes to Participatntans as Ewoma Godstime and Elohorn Francis of Love Afodus Standard School, Igbide Isoko South Local government clinched the first position and smiled home with the cash price.

Scholarship was also offered to Young Efiri Trustgod of Gbesa grammar School Ojobo, Burutu Local Government Area for clinching the second position. Omaghomi Emmanuel and Eke Precious of Iwere College Koko Warri North Local Government Area took third position.

“We are using this opportunity to promote and sustain the existing peace among the ethnic nationalities in the Communities within this Region by promoting the love that exist amongst us, particularly Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo and Isoko ethnic groups”.

The NGO, also appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Governor’s in the South-South Region and Nigeria in general to pay more attention to the improvement of the Education sector by promoting Rural and Riverine Education.

The Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu who was representated by the chief inspector of education, Warri South Local government Area, Prince Alekwe Theophilus, commended Mulade and members of CEPEJ for organizing the competition.

He stated that; “The competition has helped to foster unity, peaceful Coexistence and demonstrate that even if you have little you can contribute to education, students should use this opportunity to study hard”

The CIE of Warri South-West, Mrs. Omagbemi, Mercy said, “We Commend and encourage Chief Comrade Sheriff Mulade to keep it up. What he is doing shows that Education is a reality, not a scam, when they started, it was within Local government Areas around coastal communities, now it has extended to the entire Delta South Senatorial district”

A student of Hussey Modern College; Nwachukwu Emmanuel and a student of OgbeIjoh Grammar School, Eyefa Jerusalem Commend Sheriff Mulade stating that their lives has been impacted positively with this initiative

Schools that participated in the quiz competitions includes; Akugbene Grammar School, Burutu; Love Afodu Standard School, Isoko South; Gbesa Grammar School, Ojobo, Burutu; Iwere College, Koko, Warri North; Government Model Secondary School, Patani; Erejuwa II Grammar School, Ode-Itsekiri, Warri South; Evans International School, Isoko North; and Ogbe-Ijoh Grammar School, Warri South-West Local Government Areas.
