The wife of Ukwuani Local government Chairman, Chief (Mrs) Ishioma Dafe has called on women to give adequate attention to the girl-child.

She also advised them to trust in God, add values to themselves, be respectful, diligent and improve their general welfare.

Mrs. Dafe made this call while playing host to the National Council of Women Society (NCWS) Ukwuani Chapter in her office, as she thanked NCWS for the visit because according to her, the group shares her passion and goals for the good people of Ukwuani especially the women and the girl-child.

“I appreciate NCWS. I’m overwhelmed with joy because you are the first group to visit me since after my husband’s election as the council chairman. I’m equally glad because your goals are in alignment with some of my goals – women emancipation, gender equality, improvement of women welfare, women empowerment and so many others that are wrapped up for the girl-child.” she said.

Mrs Dafe assured the NCWS of a mutual working relationship adding that, money or no money she must do the work God has laid in her heart to do.

“Together we can achieve anything and more so when our trust is in God and not man.” she added.
