The Warri Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Manroy Global Services Limited as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with corporate organizations and stakeholders.

The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Akpokona Omafuaire, was received by the management of the company at its office in Warri.

Speaking during the visit, Omafuaire said the engagement was in line with the tradition of introducing newly elected executives of the chapel to relevant organizations and institutions.

He explained that the current leadership of the chapel emerged following the election conducted on March 16, 2026, adding that the visit was aimed at building relationships with organizations willing to partner with the media.

According to him, members of the Warri Correspondents’ Chapel represent various national newspapers and media organizations across the country.

Omafuaire reaffirmed the commitment of the chapel to professionalism, agenda setting and effective dissemination of information to the public.

The NUJ chairman also disclosed that the chapel had secured a permanent secretariat through the support of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.

He appealed to Manroy Global Services to partner with the chapel in the areas of capacity building, internet support, transportation and welfare for members.

Omafuaire further stressed the need for continuous training and retraining of journalists, particularly in the area of Artificial Intelligence, noting that the media industry was rapidly evolving.

Responding, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Manroy Global Services, Mr. Mike Taniowho, described the company as a subsidiary of Arthur Ferdinand Limited and noted that it remained committed to community development and corporate social responsibility.

He assured the delegation of the company’s readiness to collaborate with the chapel and urged the leadership to properly itemize its requests for consideration.

Taniowho said the organization looked forward to building a productive relationship with the media for mutual growth and development.

Earlier, Director of Manroy Global Services, Mr. Silver Ofugara, welcomed the delegation and congratulated the newly elected executives of the chapel.

He commended journalists for their role in informing society and promoting development, describing the visit as significant.

Ofugara noted that the presence of respected senior journalists in the delegation added value to the visit, describing them as mentors and fathers in the profession.

He said the company was impressed by the presentation made by the chapel’s leadership and reiterated its commitment to collaboration, humanitarian services and corporate social responsibility.

According to him, the company had undertaken several interventions in communities, including donation of transformers, educational support for schools and medical outreach programmes.

Ofugara cited a medical intervention sponsored by the company for a visually impaired man who later regained his sight and returned to work.

He assured the chapel that Manroy Global Services would continue to partner with the Warri Correspondents’ Chapel to improve the efficiency and productivity of journalists.
