Warri NUJ Mourns Sapele Journalist, Bishop Odudu

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, has expressed grief over the death of Comrade Bishop Elijah Odudu, a member of the NUJ Sapele Chapel, who passed away on September 24, 2026.
The Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, in a condolence message signed by its Chairman, Chief Akpokona Omafuaire, and Secretary, Igafe Edeki, described the death of Odudu as a painful loss to the journalism profession and the NUJ family in Delta State.
The chapel said the deceased was a dedicated journalist whose commitment to the profession and service to humanity would be remembered by colleagues and others who came in contact with him.
According to the statement, his death was not only a loss to the Sapele Chapel but also to the wider NUJ family and the journalism community.
“The Chairman, executives and entire members of the Warri Correspondents’ Chapel deeply mourn the loss of a dedicated colleague whose commitment to the journalism profession and service to humanity will be fondly remembered,” the statement said.
The chapel extended its condolences to the Sapele Chapel, the deceased’s immediate family, friends, colleagues and others affected by his death.
It prayed for strength and fortitude for the bereaved family and members of the Sapele Chapel as they come to terms with the loss.
The Warri Correspondents’ Chapel also prayed that God would grant the soul of Comrade Bishop Elijah Odudu eternal rest.
“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the chapel said.
