Mosogar–Oghara Stretch Of Benin/ Warri Express Way In Deplorable State, Oborevwori Approves Palliative Repairs

Road users have been stranded in the last three days of this week on the Mosogar to Oghara portion in Ethiope West Local Government Area of the Benin—Warri Express Way due to worsening deplorable condition of the road.

Hundreds of vehicles remains immobile through out as passengers disembark from public transport vehicles to board Okada to move them from Oghara to Amukpe Round about in Sapele Local Government Area and from Amukpe Round about to Oghara depending on their destinations.

Several road users who spoke with the Reformeronline lamented the hardship caused by the poor state of the road, they described it as a “suffer head road ” because of the loss of man hours, increase in transport fares and damage to vehicles.

In apparent reaction to people’s outcry, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State swiftly approved Palliative measures by immediately mobilizing Obakpor Engineering Construction Company to site to give relief to thousands of road users that includes motorists and commuters who ply the ever busy Expressway daily.

Rt. Hon. Oborevwori’s directive to the Construction Company was firm and direct, “mobilize without delay to the bad portion to restore the damaged sections of the road and improve the free flow of traffic along the ever-busy East-West Road linking Mosogar and Oghara”.

Findings by Reformeronline on, Wednesday, July 22 shows that the contractor has mobilized men, materials and equipments to the site to commence the palliative repairs as instructed by Rt. Hon. Oborevwori.

Further findings revealed that the Delta State Government intervention comes after months of public outcry over the deteriorating condition of the road, which had become a nightmare to motorists, commercial transport operators and residents due to numerous failed portions and heavy traffic congestion in that stretch of the expressway.

Motorists and commuters expressed appreciation to the Governor of Delta State for his prompt response to their plights by giving a matching order for the palliative repairs, they expressed the hope that the intervention would make their movement to be smooth and ease their burdens.

The people of Ethiope West Local Government Area added their voice to that of the road users to call President Bola Tinubu take prompt action to consider a comprehensive reconstruction of the Mosogar-Oghara Road to provide a lasting solution to the recurring deterioration as the road is of strategic importance in the Niger Delta region.
