June 12: Nigerians Enjoined To Live In Peace, Love, Unity

As the nation marks Democracy Day, Nigerians have been called upon to embrace peaceful co-existence, love one another, remain united with a view to move the country to greater heights.

This call was made by Rev. Joseph Phikpabore Oyibo, General Overseer, City of Faith Bible Living Church inc., Udu near Warri, he said that it is imperative for all to resist whatever that would truncate the peace and progress of the nation.

Rev. Oyibo said that peace, love and unity are essential foundation for growth, development, prosperity, adding that peace of the nation and advancement is non – negotiable.

According to Rev. Oyibo, “as the nation marks Democracy Day, Nigerians should focus on how we can work together to achieve a dream of a better, stronger Nigeria where democracy thrives for a good and better results. As we live to emulate other Nations where this works, it will be our prayer that ours will be more better than others.

“We must not forget the work of those who stood to fight until now for us to get to where we are now, those efforts should not be allowed to be in vain and efforts by those who want to truncate the peace of the nation should be resisted.”

The Cleric advised that Nigerians should employ the tool of dialogue to actualize the much needed peace, love and unity, adding, ” let’s try to discuss problems openly to prevent violence, in order to build trust, peace and unity. Let’s give room for dialogue on issues that affects us in order to advance our beloved country.”

He also advised that we empathize with each other, treat everyone equally with love and be fair to all, adding, “when we understand each other, we feel for each, and the love that flows will make us see each other as one. It will help to build a strong relationships that would last and end hate.

“Treating everyone equally with love gives every citizens a voice. Fair laws protect all citizens and prevent conflicts and crisis.
There are benefits of National unity. The dream of having a better and stronger Nigeria should be the focus of everyone in the country. “

Speaking on insecurity in the country, the cleric called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that all those identified as security risks to the nation be so treated as enemies and made to face the full wrath of the law to make the nation a safe place for all, adding, “those who want to sabotage the peace of the nation should be brought to book. Let’s join hands to pray for peace for our dear nation.”
