National Commission for Museums, Monuments Tasked On Fencing of the Warri Kingdom Royal Cemetery

The Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments Mr. Olugbile Holloway, has been called upon to include the fencing of the Warri Kingdom Royal Cemetery in Delta State to the list of projects to be executed by the Commission.
The Oguolusan of Warri Kingdom, Chief Brown Mene made this request when he led the Royal Cemetery Management Committee on a courtesy visit to Mr. Olugbile Holloway at Lagos on Friday March 21, 2025 to brief the DG on the state of the Warri Kingdom Royal Cemetery and the Nanna Living History Museum respectively.
He commented the DG for his commitment toward safeguarding the various monuments and submitted that the fencing of the Cemetery be included in the list of projects to be executed by the Commission to prevent land speculators from freely encroaching into the Cemetery land space.
This courtesy visit comes ahead of the International Day for Monuments and Sites celebration coming up on 18th April 2025.
The Secretary of the Warri Kingdom Royal Cemetery Management Committee, Mr. Henry A. Erikowa who is also the Chairman, Advisory Board, Nanna Living History Museum, Koko alongside, Mrs Ete Ayida, a member of the Board were amongst team visiting team to Mr. Olugbile Holloway.
The Warri Kingdom Royal Cemetery, Ijala, is one of the 108 Declared State and National Monuments in the country.
It would be recalled that the Commission had recently charged all Curators across the country to protect sites and monuments in their areas of primary assignments.
