By Hezekiah Ovedhe.
Ex-Delta SSG, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, the Okiroro of Isoko Nation has urged Nigerians to be confident and steadfast in the hope for a better future for Nigeria in the year 2026.
Macaulay in his New Year message to Nigerians, made available to the media in Asaba on Thursday, he affirmed that the country would record measurable gains in governance and development, insisting that sustainable progress must be driven by strong institutions rather than individuals.
He said; “I have the hope that the nation we so sacrifice to keep going and to this age can only be better notwithstanding various security and economic challenges that has been bedeviling us as a Country.
“With the various infrastructural development we are witnessing as a results of increased in allocation from the Federal Government to States and Local Governments. I am optimistic that we are gradually getting there.
“We do not just have a New Year, we have a New Opportunity. A New Opportunity to be better leaders and better followers. To be better citizens, we must join hands with our President, Governor’s, Local Government Council Chairmen and fellow Nigerians, irrespective of region and religion, to bring Nigeria ever closer to the dreams of our Founding Fathers.
“On behalf of myself, family and Macaulay Foundation, I wish everyone a Happy New Year. 2026 is the year of better things for Nigeria.”
