In view of the need to strengthen the gains achieved in the clean up of Warri and its environs and following the expiration of the Environmental Sanitation Task Force earlier set up and headed by Delta State Deputy Governor, Professor Amos Utuama the State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has approved the reconstitution of the Special Environmental Sanitation Task Force to be headed by Environment Commissioner, Chief Frank Omare.

The committee has the Permanent Secretary Governor’s office Annex Mr. Patrick Origho as secretary.

Other members of the newly reconstituted committee are: Hon. Ben Igbakpa, Transport Commissioner; Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon works Commissioner;
Sir Patrick Ferife Lands and Surveys Commissioner; Charles Ajuyah, SAN.. Justice Commissioner and State Attorney General; Dr. Chris Oghenechovwen.. Water Resources Commissioner; Chief Olori Magege, Chairman Waste Management Board; Angela Nwaka, Executive Assistant Beautification; Omasan Buwa, Executive Assistant Physically Challenged; Dr. Austin Uroye Transition committee Chairman, Warri South Council; Mr. Raymond Edijala Transition Committee Chairman Udu Council; Sir Bright Edejehwro Transition Committee Chairman Uwvie Council; Mr. Linus Chima, Press Secretary, Warri.

The committee is to commence work immediately.

The Task Force’s terms of reference include to continue the clean up of Warri, Uwvie and Udu Local Government Areas as well as sustain the achievements so far recorded.

It will also engage in the removal of illegal structures, check street trading, eliminate illegal parks, control indiscriminate parking of vehicles, evacuate waste and ensure general cleanliness of the environment.
