EPPI set to train 50 Isoko students on waste to wealth management

A non governmental, non profit organization led by youths under the auspices of Environmental Protection Promoters Initiative (EPPI) operating in Irri Isoko South local government area of Delta State, has concluded plans on how to train 50 indigent Isoko Students selected from 50 Secondary schools across Isoko nation.
According to EPPI boss, Comrade Sylvester Itimi, he said the programme with theme; “Isoko Creative Recycling PROJECT (ICRP) 2018″, is in furtherance of EPPI vision to curb youth restiveness and to enable the youths create employment for themselves, positing that, ” 50 secondary school students in Isoko are to benefit from our training.”
In his words; “The ICRP project is designed to hold in Isoko with aimed to train fifty (50) secondary school students and 15 out of school volunteers with more emphasis on the girl child. The training would be focused on transforming materials already considered as waste into usable and valuable items with socio-economic benefits.
“The aim of the project is to inspire solutions to environmental problems through training for the project proposed beneficiaries across Isoko land by way of making life more better for our people.
“The objectives will be to train and provide participants with the required skills needed to recycle and transform waste materials into creative art works for socio-economic benefits.” Comrade Itimi said.
Comrade Itimi also posited that, the programme is aimed, “To inspire students and volunteers to develop a set of values and concern for the environment and motivate them to participate in resolving environmental problems in our society.
“To help participants acquire the basic knowledge on how the environment functions, as well as, encourage inclusiveness of the girl child in creative art works and other environmental related issues.
“With many projects like this and more underway, EPPI has kept moving forward, as an NGO tackling local challenges and creating awareness of environment with a view on internationally appraised practices.” He added.
