2019: Delta House of Assembly hopeful drums support for Okowa

Delta State House of Assembly hopeful and environmentalist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade yesterday drummed support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his deputy, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro for 2019 election.
Comrade Mulade who spoke to journalists in Warri said the support was necessary owing to the fact that Governor Okowa has brought lots of development to Warri South West constituency, adding that the people of Warri South West have no option than to support Okowa’s reelection bid.
He said Governor Okowa has done a lot of infrastructural projects in the riverine communities in Warri South West since he came into power in 2015.
He said: “I want all Deltans to rally round our amiable Governor, Senator Dr Ifaeyi Okowa and his Deputy Barrister Kingsley Otuaro come 2019. We have no other option than to support them because since former Governor James Ibori left power, we have never had it this good.
“Apart from some of the infrastructures Chief Ibori did for the Ijaw people, no other governor has done anything for us. But since Senator Okowa came into power, he has been able to bring development by way infrastructure to our community. So this has shown us that this government is for us and we are ready to suport it come 2019.
On the reason why he decided to aspire to represent his constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Comrade Mulade, who is also the National Coordinator, Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) said he was only doing what his people asked him to do.
He said his constituency has been urging him to take a shot at the Delta State House of Assembly to represent them, noting that by declaring his intention to run for the position, he was only doing what his people asked him to do.
“My people have been urging me to go and represent them at the Delta State House of Assembly and that is exactly what I am doing today. So I want to use this opportunity to announce to you that I am running for the Delta State House of Assembly race. I believe that I have the capacity and experience to bring the needed development to Warri South West constituency.”
“If elected as their representative I will ensure that all issues confronting Warri South West constituency is adequately addressed and if possible nip all crisis in the bud before they escalate. We all know that once there is peace in Warri South West constituency, there is peace in Delta State, and if there is peace in Delta State, there is definitely going to be peace in Nigeria.
“I want to believe that there are certain key things that are needed to be done before peace can be achieved in Warri South West and I assure you that once I am in the house, we will make the necessary laws that will entrench peace in our communities.
