Orovwuje heads 22–Member Burial Committee For Kokori

Following the passing onto glory of Chief Frank Ovie Kokori, an elder-statesman, renowned pro-democracy activist, Labour Leader extraordinaire and consummate nationalist, a former Secretary General of NUPENG and an APC Chieftain on Thursday, December 7, 2023, Mr. Kive Kokori has announced the setting up of a 22-Member Committee headed by Archbishop Philip Orovwuje as chairman.

Accordng to a statement signed by Mr Kive Kokori on behalf of the family, “after due consultations with the family, we wsh to announce the composition of a Burial Planning Committee of distinguished persons.”

Mr. Kokori added, “this Committee is to plan a befitting burial for this highly respected, revered, compassionate, selfless and principled Nigerian whose contribution and commitment to the enthronement of democracy in Nigeria is indelible.”

He gave the names of the Committee member to include
Archbishop Philip Orovwuje, JP, Chairman, Comr. Issa Aremu, Alternate Chairman, Dr. Akin Awodeyi-Akinssheinwa, Deputy Chairman (Political),vComr. John Odah, Deputy Chairman(Labour),. Kayode, Deputy Chairman (Media/Civil Society), Elvis Asoro Esq. Secretary, Fred Latimore, Esq. – (Member), Alex Agwaanwhor- NUPENG Rep (Member), Thompson Ogbodo- NUPENG Rep (Member),
Innocent Iyere, NUPENG Rep (Member), Johnson Okoro, (Member).

He gave the names of others as follows Ese Agiri Esq., (Member), Felix Ayanruoh Esq, Diaspora Representative(member), Ebenezer Adurokiya- Media (member), Ken Omamogho (member), Elvis Erute(member), Tobore Ovumedia(member), Oke Barry Atawoda(member), Frank Kokori Jnr.(member), Efe Kokori(member), Kive Kokori(member) and Onome Kokori(member).

The statement added that the committee is charged with the responsibility of liaising with the Federal and State Governments, Labour, Corporate Organizations, individuals and other stakeholders with the aim of organizing a befitting burial for the distinguished elder-statesman.

Mr. Kokori added, “in due course, the Committee will make public further details regarding the burial including a date after the required consultations.

“We thank the committee members who despite their very busy schedules have graciously agreed to do this as a mark of honour for a great Nigerian patriot and hero.”
