Police Kill Two Suspected Armed Robbers, Rescue 17 Victims In Delta

The Nigerian Police, Delta State Command said it has killed two suspected armed robbers in the state.
The hoodlums were sited opposite the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Delta State Command Asaba, Oshimili north local government area of the state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, on 3rd March 2021, following a tip-off, “A team of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) operatives were dispatched to the scene and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle.
According to a press statement made available to newsmen in Warri, the PPRO revealed that “Two of them were fatally injured and later died, while others escaped”.
The image maker disclosed that one AK47 rifle with BREECH No. 19567, and two Magazines with 18 rounds of live ammunition were recovered.
“In same vein, on the 3rd March 2021, a distress call was received that workers of one Zion Onofighe, a male hotelier, with the name Zion Compound were under siege by gunmen in Abraka, Ethiope east local government area of the state.
“The hooligans attacked the workers at his site in Ogor, Ughelli, the administrative headquarter of Ughelli north local government area of the state.
“Patrol teams dispatched to the scene, engaged the hoodlums in a shootout and rescued the hotelier and 16 workers unhurt.
“Also, a Toyota Highlander Jeep was also recovered from the scene, stressing that manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing,” the statement reads.
The statement added the police are on a manhunt to track the other fleeing suspects.
