NULGE excos called to actualize workers welfare plan

The chairman of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Sapele Chapter, Comrade Ejiro Odebala has called on the members of his cabinet to work in the interest of the workers whom they represent  reminding them that their election and inauguration into the various offices is a call to serve the union diligently putting the interest of the workers first.

He made this call during the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected members of his cabinet, Thursday, at the Sapele Local Government Council Secretariat.

Comrade Odebala who congratulated the newly sworn executives also commended the members of the union for conducting a transparent, free, fair and credible election.

In an interview with journalists, Comrade Odebala promised to continue in the strides of his predecessor, Comrade Stanley Akogba, by working with members of his cabinet to shoulder the affairs of workers’ welfare and creating a cordial relationship with the current administration in the council secretariat so that the union’s goals and needs can be achieved. He promised that the welfare package for the workers would be visited.

“I have promised the workers that I will not let them down. The workers’ mind will be my decision. Their pains will be my pain.”

Executive members who were sworn in include: Comrades Samson Okokoro (Vice Chairman I); Felix Oghenekevwe (Vice Chairman II); Ambassador Biokoro (Secretary); Henry Onofomi (Assistant Secretary); Mrs. Mercy Igeye (Treasurer) and Beatrice Jemikalaja (Auditor).

Others are Comrades Augustine Enuenwuju (Trustee); Matilda Isiakpere (Welfare); Rose Akpeyeden (PRO); Anthonia Ivwighreghwetan (Woman Leader); Godwin Ashibuojwo (SSPA) and representatives from each department in the local government council.
