OLOGITERE, A QUINTESSENTIAL BUREAUCRAT, ADMINISTRATOR PER EXCELLENCE—ORIGHO

Late Mrs. Philomena Moweyemi Kehinde Ologitere, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Development has been described as a quintessential bureaucrat as well was an administrator per excellence with an uncommon finesse in speech and deeds  just as she passed on at the time the Delta State Civil Service was still benefitting from her wealth of experience.

These were the words of Mr. Patrick Origho, Head of Service, Delta State Civil Service when he led the College of Permanent Secretaries in Delta State on a condolence visit to the family of Late Mrs. Ologitere in Effurun, he said that the State Civil Service received the sad news of the untimely passage onto eternity of Late Mrs. Ologitere with rude shock and deep sense of grief.

Mr. Origho said that the demise of Mrs. Ologitere was a painful experience not only to the Ologitere and Arubi Families but also to the entire Delta State Public Service, adding, “as we condole with you at this time of your grief, we enjoin you and the entire Ologitere and Arubi Families to take solace in the fact that death is a natural phenomenon and the birth of a new beginning.”

According to Mr. Origho, “Mrs. Philomena Moweyemi Kehinde Ologitere was a quintessential bureaucrat and administrator per excellence with an uncommon finesse and brilliance in speech and deeds. She had a meek and graceful personality with strict adherence to the core values of the Civil Service where she served meritoriously for twenty six years. The sad event which occurred on Wednesday, March 26, 2015 during her protracted illness has left a vacuum in the Delta State Civil Service as well as we are left to mourn the demise of a rare gem.”

The Head of Service spoke further, “as a devout Christian of the Church of God Mission International Incorporated, she was an active member of the DLA Provincial Headquarters, Asaba where she worshipped. Being a true believer and an amiable personality, we believe that Late Mrs. Philomena M. K. Ologitere has gone to sleep in the Lord. On behalf of the State Government and the Public Service of Delta State, I wish to extend to your family our heartfelt condolences. We pray that God almighty will grant you all the fortitude to bear this great loss and grant the soul of your dearly beloved wife, mother,   grandmother, sister, cousin and our colleague, Late Mrs. Philomena M. K. Ologitere eternal rest.”

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. Moore  O. Ologitere, husband of Late Mrs. P. M. K. Ologitere said that before now some of her late wife’s colleagues have been very supportive adding that his late wife had a peculiar life style and work ethics, committed and devoted. Her death indicates that she has completed her assignment here on earth.

Late Mrs. Ologitere was a member of the Senior Management Committee of the Delta State Civil Service, member of the revered National Institute and once a Sole Administrator, Udu Local Government Council before the return to democracy in 1999.

 On the Head of Service entourage are Mr. Bayoko, Mrs. Constance   Nwanne, Dr. S . B Agbeyeke, Mr. Frank Isume, Permanent Secretary, Governor’s Office Annexe, Warri, Mrs. Felicia Adun, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mrs. Omeru, Permanent Secretary, Post Primary Education Board, Zonal Office, Sapele, Dr. (Mrs.) Caroline Ajuya among other Permanent Secretaries.

On the family side are Chief Ogan Ugavah, Usiavwre of Alegbo, Chief Hope Erute, Chief Faith Gbagi among many others.
