…It has afforded me the opportunity of knowing the area – Corps member Ojimini
Members of Warri South Local Government Council Taskforce on Beautification, have called for the sustenance of the newly introduced National Environmental Sanitation Programme of the National Youth Service Corps, saying it would enhance the environmental sanitation policy at the local government level, particularly in Warri South where the Dr. Michael Tidi administration has stepped up its beautification drive.

While acknowledging little challenge at the initial stage of mobilizing the corps members to various locations in Warri for the clean – up exercise, Mr. George described the exercise as successful and thanked Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, for providing the necessary logistics and doing everything possible to make Warri South friendly for tourists and investors.
The Taskforce Chairman, also appreciated the efforts of Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Mr. Joseph Oribioye, the Council’s Supervisor for Environment, Patricia Edun, other members of the beautification taskforce and the NYSC Local Government Inspector for Warri South, Mrs. Abodunde Olubunmi, for their roles in mobilizing the corps members and assigning them to various parts of Warri for the exercise.
The corps members, who were grouped in tens, swept designated streets in Warri, handpicked debris and bagged same for eventual evacuation by the Warri South Council Refuse Evacuation and Disposal Truck.
A Batch B Stream 1B Corps member serving in Warri South Local Government Area, Raymond Ojimini, who shared his experience after partaking in the exercise at Edjeba, Warri, stated that the programme afforded him the opportunity of knowing the area better and commended the NYSC management for initiative.
