Navy @70: Logistics Command, Oghara donates to Orphanage

The Nigerian Navy Logistics Command, Oghara has donated some items to the “Merciful Orphanage Home” in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Rear Admiral Abiodun Alade, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Command on Tuesday led some officers of the Command on the visit to the Orphanage.
The visit which was aimed at identifying and supporting the less privileged in the society, formed part of the activities for the “NN @ 70 Anniversary Celebration”.
Beyond this, the visit
also sought to support and encourage the children and give them a sense of belonging in the society.
Speaking during the outreach, the FOC expressed gratitude to the Proprietress of the Orphanage, Pastor Mrs Rose for her unwavering passion, care and dedication to the welfare of the children.
Rear Admiral Alade urged the children to remain focused on their studies and aspire towards a brighter future, noting that they were the future leaders of the nation and beyond.
He reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to sustaining the already existing civil-military relationship through the provision of social, medical and charitable support to the host communities.
The FOC said that gesture was to
promote unity, cooperation and mutual understanding between the NN and their host communities.
Among the items donated to the Orphanage were: Bags of rice, Groundnut oil, Noodles, drinks and among others.
