Members of the Uvwie Private Sector Participants (PSP) in Waste Manageme on Thursday pledged their support for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Uvwie Local Government Area chairmanship candidate, Hon. Ramsey Onoyake, in the January 6, 2018 Council poll.
President of the Uvwie PSP, Comrade Lucky Adjekuko who led members of his team on a courtesy call to Hon. Onoyake told our correspondent in an interview that they believed in the ability of Onoyake to take Uvwie to greater level if he becomes the chairman of the council.
He said the visit was to assure Hon. Onoyake of their unflinching support for him when he becomes the council chairman of Uvwie, adding that they were confident that Hon Onoyake will emerge as winner of the council election.
“We are here to show our support to Hon. Ramsey Onoyake because we believe that he is going to turn around the fortune of the council area. We are going to support him till the end. We promise that we are going to ensure that he emerges the winner of the election,” Adjekuko said.
Earlier, Mr. Collins ighrakpata, who spoke on behalf of the group told Hon Onoyake that the reason why they paid him the courtesy call was to tell him that they are going to campaign for him with their trucks as they go about their business of cleaning the council area.
“We are here today as members of the Uvwie PSP to tell you that we are behind you. We know that you are a foundation member of this Council Area. You were the supervisory councillor for works when this Council was created.
“We believe that with your level of experience in politics you are going to move this Council Area to a different height because you already know how the system works. We have come to pledge our loyalty to you and we promise you that we are going to support you to the end. Any where you are going, we are going to go with you,” Ighrakpata said.
He however, appealed with Hon. Onoyake to provide the needed conducive environment to enable them perform their duties when he finally becomes the chairman of Uvwie Council area.
Responding, Hon Onoyake thanked the members of the Uvwie PSP for the visit, promising that he is going to incorporate them into his government when he finally becomes the chairman of the council Area.
“You people are not new to me. We have known each other for a long time. I want to believe that we will work together when the time comes. I want to assure you that when we come board we are going to look at how we can synergize together. By his grace PSP is going to be part of my government.
“One of the reasons why we have local government is to ensure that we take care of the local needs of the people. As a council area, we will not sit down and fold our arms and expect the State to do everything for us. We are going to work together to make Uvwie a better place to stay, whether we are indigenes or not. I want to thank you and appreciate you for this visit,” Onoyake said.
