Dr. Michael Tidi, the immediate past chairman of Warri South, has joined hands with well-wishers and colleagues to celebrate the birthday of Senator James Manager, describing him as a distinguished Nigerian politician who has represented the Delta South Senatorial District when he was their Senator.
Tidi in a statement made available to journalists in Warri said, Senator James Manager, a stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party, has been a dedicated servant of the people since he was first elected to the Senate in 2003.
He said that Senator Manager, the immediate past Senator representing the good people of Delta South Senatorial District, is known for his unwavering commitment to the betterment of his constituents.
The former Warri South council boss stressed that Senator Manager, tirelessly championed various causes in the Senate, including advocating for the rights and well-being of communities in the oil-rich Gbaramatu clan of Warri South Local Government Area.
“During his tenure, Senator Manager has served on key Senate committees such as Works, Niger Delta, and Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters, where he has consistently worked to address issues affecting his constituents and the nation at large.
“One of Senator Manager’s notable moments was in May 2009 when he raised concerns about the devastating impact of military bombardments on communities in the Gbaramatu clan. His efforts led to a Senate resolution calling for action to protect the affected communities, showcasing his commitment to justice and peace in the region.
“Furthermore, Senator Manager has been a vocal advocate for a diplomatic approach to resolving conflicts, particularly in addressing the Joint Task Force attacks on Ijaw villages. His stance on seeking peaceful solutions highlights his statesmanship and dedication to fostering harmony and understanding among diverse communities.
“As Senator Manager marks another year in his illustrious career, it would be recalled that his re-election in the April 2011 elections stands as a testament to the trust and confidence reposed in him by the people of Delta South Senatorial District.
