…say they are solidly behind his Delta House of Assembly, Warri South Constituency 11 aspiration
The kinsmen of Dr Michael Tidi, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday said they were proud to associate themselves with his giant strides in governance and human capital development since his assumption into office as the chairman of the council.
The Obelikpeyah family of Agbarah-Warri said this in Warri, during the grand reception ceremony they organized in honour of Dr Micheal Tidi held at the Ogwan Re’Ukutemi Obelikpeyah Akporue compound, Warri.
Prince (Chief) Julius Kpesu Obelikpeyah, Secretary of Obelikpeyah family who spoke on behalf of the family head, Pa Ulori Victor Obelikpeyah and the family, said Tidi at his young age, has proven that there was “nothing that cannot be achieved with dint of hard work and God’s grace in an era when some are saying school is a scam.”
He said, “We, the Obelikpeyah family of Ukpokiti and Igbudu communities of Agbarah Kingdom, Warri, in Warri South Local Government Area hearty welcome you to this grand reception in honour of our illustrious and distinguish son, Dr. Michael Ejueyitsi Ogheneyoma Tidi, the Executive Chairman, Warri South Local Government Council.
“In these days when young men of your age are indulging in unwholesome activities you decided to follow the path of honour and dignity, seeking and acquiring all tha there’s in education including a doctor of philosophy PhD and a Bachelor of Law in equity.
“Our earnest prayers is that Jehovah continue to grant you wisdom to accomplish more successes in the remaining year in office and also to grant you all that you desire furtherance of your political aspirations, even higher office by His grace.
“We make bold to say as a family we’re solidly behind you to help you achieve your Warri South Constituency 11 House of Assembly aspiration.”
Tidi who was overwhelmed with the outpouring of love during his reception, appreciated his kinsmen for the carnival like warm reception they held in his honour.
He said this was the second time his family is holding this grand reception in his honour adding the first was held in his first term as chairman of the council.
Tidi said he never knew that all his modest achievement in politics and personal life were noticed by his family, adding that those achievements were made possible by his wife, his family and the people of Warri South Local Government Area.
He expressed joy and gratitude to God and thanked his family for the honour bestowed to him and pledged to always make his family and the entire people in Warri South proud as council chairman as well as in any future leadership position given to him.
He noted that his joy knows no bound for the peace and security enjoyed in Warri and it’s metropolis in his reign as council boss in Warri South LGA.
He appealed to comedians and news reporters to always potray Warri in good light in their reportage and jokes, saying that negative reports in Warri drives away potential investors from the oil city of Warri.
He said the grand reception has put to rest his identity and relationship with the Obelikpeyah family, noting that asap grandson of the family, he will always make them proud.
He said he is a true son of Warri having come from both divide of Itsekiri and Urhobo ethnic speaking groups.
Some of the people who spoke at the grand reception include, Hon. Taiye Tuoyo Duke the Executive Chairman Warri South-West Local Government Area, Chief Pa Churchill Oki, Prince Onigala of Igala kingdom, Mr Victor Agbatiniyero, Rt Hon, Sylvester Ijabor Leader of the Warri South Legislative Arm.
Others are; Matthew Otomewo, Head of Otomewo family, Brother Otomiewo Obelikpeyah, Chief Emmanuel Ememo, President General, Agbarah Kingdom, Chief Ann Ogborikoko, PDP woman leader, amongst others.
They all drummed their support for Dr Michael Tidi’s House of Assembly Warri South Constituency 11 aspiration.
People from Warri South Constituency 11, people from Warri South Council Area and environs also graced the colorful occasion.
Meanwhile, Dr Michael Tidi, paid a courtesy call to the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party and his Executive of Edjebah ward, to declare his intention to run for the Delta State House of Assembly, Warri South Constituency 11 in the 2023 general election.
He told the leadership of the PDP Edjebah ward that the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria allows people to change their voting point to where they are residents in, saying that that was why he decided to change his voting point from constituency 1 to constituency 11.
He said his aspiration to represent the good people of Warri South Constituency 11 at the Delta State House of Assembly was a Pan Warri project that seeks to bring all Warri together as one.
He said he sees Warri as a place where everyone will live as one where the Indigenes and non-indigenes will live as brothers and sisters.
He said it was high time the people of Warri South Constituency 11 got people with legislative knowledge to represent them and bring the dividends of democracy to the people.
The leadership of the PDP Edjebah ward promised to work with him to achieve his dreams.
