Professor Patrick Muoboghare has accepted an invitation from the Delta State command of the Nigeria Police Force to discuss serious allegations of terrorism, gun running, and drug trafficking.

The invitation with Ref No CR: 3422/DTS/X-SQD/VOL3/172 and titled “Police Invitation Letter Re: Case Of Acts Of Terrorism, Illegal Possession Of Firearms, Gun Running, Criminal Intimidation, Dealings In Illicit Substance And Conduct Likely To Cause Breach Of The Peace” was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of X-Squad Unit, Lucky Adagbon.

The former Commissioner for Higher Education in Delta State, while denying the allegations, said he would honour the invitation to clear his name of any wrongdoing.

Also invited over the said allegations are some community leaders of Uwheru Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area, including one Mr. Obukohwo Ekpevwru, said to be the primary suspect under investigation

Others invited include the President General of Uwheru Kingdom, Chief Macpherson Igbedi and nine others.

The professor, known for his outspoken views on security issues, characterized the allegations as “infantile” and attributed them to “insane characters” allegedly backed by influential figures, some reportedly on government payroll.

Professor Muoboghare in a statement made available to our reporter, expressed skepticism about the police’s willingness to confront the real threats facing Delta State.

“This invitation presents an opportunity for me to directly inform the Delta State Police command about the whereabouts of terrorists in the region,” he stated. “However, I doubt their resolve to act on this information.”

He further claimed that key national security agencies—including the National Security Adviser (NSA), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Defence Intelligence Agency (DMI), Department of State Services (DSS), and even local government officials—are aware of the terrorist presence in Delta State but have failed to take decisive action.

“If the police feigns ignorance during our meeting, I am prepared to provide evidence that they are indeed aware of the situation,” he warned.

Highlighting the severity of the issue, Professor Muoboghare remarked that foreign terrorists have reportedly infiltrated Delta State, exacerbating the security crisis.

He criticized the lack of a cohesive national policy to combat this growing threat, calling for immediate government action.

As the meeting approaches, the public remains watchful, anticipating whether the police will heed the professor’s warnings and take necessary steps to enhance security in the region.

Below is the full statement:

1. I shall honour the invitation extended to me by the Delta State command of the Nigeria Police Force, to interview or interrogate the ACP of the CP’s X squad on infantile allegations of terrorism, gun running and stocking hard substances.

2. Some insane characters, goaded by more insane paymasters, some on government payroll, made the allegations.

3. The invitation provides an opportunity for me to tell DTS Police command directly, where the terrorists are in Delta State and who they are, with the hope that the command will have the courage to go after them and which I doubt very much.

4. I believe that NSA, NIA, DMI, DSS, the Police Force Headquarters, the Governor and Local Government Chairmen know where the terrorists are in Delta State. Should the Police feign ignorance on Monday, I will prove to them that they know.

5. Foreign terrorists known to the authorities have taken over Delta State, but there is a lack of national policy to deal with the scourge and the government and I know this.
