Power tussle: Ugbolokposo Community hails Olu of Warri for resolving crisis

The Itsekiri Community of Ugbolokposo in Uvwie Council Area of Delta State has commended the Olu of Warri Kingdom, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse 111 for amicably resolving power tussle crisis rocking the community over the years.
They also appreciated the efforts of the Obaloye, Chief Clement Maleghemi in ensuring that the Community get a new working Executive to manage their affairs.
The newly inaugurated 9-member Caretaker Committee led by Mr. Amejuma Okotie as Chairman and Mr. Amajuoritse Oleju as Secretary made these commendations during their swearing-in ceremony which took place at the Community hall on Sunday 3rd July, 2022.
The event was witnessed by Chiefs Omolubi Newuwumi and Mike Odeli who represented the Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse 111 with the Obaloye of Warri and Director of Palace administration Chief Clement Maleghemi seated as the leader of the community.
Speaking at the colorful and well attended ceremony, Chief Omolubi a.k.a Egindereyugbo charge the new Executive to run an all-inclusive government and churn greediness and the commonwealth embezzlement syndrome that had been the practice of most community Executives in the past.
He charged them to open a Community account also in line with modern practice.
On his part, the Obaloye of Warri who express profound gratitude to the Olu of Warri for making the swearing-in possible said all efforts by him to get a new Executive in place for the past six (6) years were fraustrated until the Royal father’s intervention, saying that ” with the caretaker Committee now in place he expects positive changes in Ugbolokposo”.
According to him, ” you cannot be doing the same thing all year round, by the same persons and expect a different result. The new Executive will run the affairs of the community for six (6) months and if found to have performed creditably well, will have their tenure extended because you do not change a winning team anyhow”, he stressed.
The new Chairman, Mr. Amejuma Okotie promised to attract positive changes and economic development to the Community even as appealed for the support and cooperation of well meaning natives to enable him achieve these goals of taking the community to greater heights.
Earlier a Youth Leader in Ugbolokposo, Mr. Adolphus Tosanwumi and the Councilor representing Ward 14, Ugbolokposo, Uvwie Council Area of Delta State, Hon. Philip Enetsemi thanked the Warri monarch for settling the various factions in the town and making the swearing-in a reality, this is just as they appealed to all aggrieved persons to sheath their swords and support the new team as directed by the royal father for the common benefits of the entire Ugbolokposo.
The 9-member Caretaker Committee sworn-in by Chief Mike Odeli are: Amejuma Okotie, Chairman; Amajuoritse Oleju, Secretary; Felix Jokoh, PRO; Augustine Atseruboma, member; Madam Christy Mosayagha, woman Leader and Stanley Atumu Omatseye, Organizer.
Others are Joseph Natuke, Publicity Secretary and Sunny Okorodudu member respectively.
Four persons each was nominated by Chief Clement Maleghemi and Pa. Osibakoro Otuedon while His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse 111 nominated one member respectively to function from the date of their inauguration for six months.
