Police Recover 7,365 PVCs Stolen in Delta

Police in Delta State have recovered not less than 7,365 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) earlier stolen from the office of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by persons suspected to be political thugs in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.
Following the report, four suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the crime in Oghara town, the country home of James Ibori, former Governor of Delta State.
Besides the PVCs that were recovered by the police, one INEC register stolen by the thugs, was equally recovered from one of the suspects.
The Union gathered that a good Nigerian saw the bags containing the PVCs and reported the matter to the police who swiftly swooped on the thieves and recovered the items.
When the bags were searched by police detectives, it was discovered that PVCs earlier snatched from INEC officials were abandoned in the bags and were recovered.
The Union also gathered that one of the suspects was arrested with INEC missing Register on the day of the discovery while others were arrested at an earlier date.
While confirming the recovery of the PVCs and the arrest of the suspects, Police Public Relations Officer of Delta State Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, said the PVCs and the suspects were recovered and arrested due to intensive strategy deployed by police, noting that the suspects would soon be charged to court at the end of investigation.
