OVIE OF UMIAGHWA-ABRAKA DECLARES OVWUVWE ANNUAL FESTIVAL

HRM AVM Lucky Ochuko Ararile (Rtd) Avwaeke 1, the Ovie of UmIaghwa-Abraka kingdom has approved and declared the celebration of the Ovwuvwe annual festival for his people with effect from April 1st to 17th April 2014.
This message was passed during a press briefing by the chairman of the Anniversary committee Chief Ben Odjugo. According to Chief Odjugo, the climax of the ceremony will be on the 16th of April 2014 when the traditional war lords of Umiaghwa Abraka will return from the forest called “Uyo” to the ancestral shrine of Ovwuvwe at Ughele-Otorho, Abraka.
In the programme of activities, the chairman also stressed on the week long activities on the Ovwuvwe annual festival, culminating with the second anniversary of HRM AVM Lucky Ararile (Rtd) as the Ovie of Umiaghwa Abraka Kingdom which starts on sunday 13th 2014 with church service for successful celebration. Then, honorary chieftaincy titles will be given to friends of the kingdom on Monday 14th April followed by traditional chieftaincy titles to sons and daughters of the kingdom by his HRM on Tuesday 15th April 2014.
The Ovwuvwe festival comes up on Wednesday 16th April 2014 when the traditional war lords of Umiaghwa Abraka kingdom will return from the forest and dance with the people to their ancestral shrine at Ughele-Otorho Abraka.
Since the coronation of AVM Ararile as Ovie of Umiaghwa Abraka kingdom, it has been the tradition of his wife, the Queen, HRM Ihioma Opuruchi Ararile, the Oniemo of Umiaghwa Abraka kingdom will be giving out micro credit loans to women of the kingdom which will be coming up on Thursday 17th April and followed by Youth activities on friday 18th.
The second coronation anniversary celebration will take place on Saturday 19th and the weeklong activities will round up with a church thanksgiving service on sunday 20th April.
The central working committee chairman, Chief Ben Odjugo, further assures the public that the Ovwuvwe festival and coronation anniversary celebration will not in anyway adversely affect public interest or law abiding citizens as the people of Umiaghwa Abraka kingdom have been admonished to be peaceful and law abiding in their celebrations.
He. Stressed that the essence of the celebration is to bring our people together to fraternize, assess their development strides and respect to traditional institution.
He therefore called on the members of security agencies that any miscreants or persons found breaching the law should be dealt with accordingly.
