GROUP CONDEMNS PENSION BILL FOR GOVERNORS, DEPUTY AS RECESSION BITES DEEPER

A Group under the aegis of Edo Civil Society Organization, has expressed rude shock over the proposed pension bill even as recession bites deeper while condemning and demanding a total reversal of the bill and its amendments by the state legislative arms following an alleged proposed two hundred million and One hundred pension bills packaged for the ex Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and His Former Deputy Dr. Pius Odubu.
In a Statement issued today in Benin City by the Coordinator General of the Group, Comrade Omobude Agho, posited that the legislative duties should have been preoccupied with matters of improving and developing the state to create more windows for the unemployed youths in the society.
While congratulating Governor Godwin Obaseki on his emergence, Comrade Omobude noted that the obnoxious bill should not be granted assents as he would expect the governor reject the bill.
He further explained that by this call, the CSO’s are not in any way opposed to pensions and severance allowances to past administrators but however opposing any form of adjustment to the existing laws.
He urged the Governor to see how the acclaimed bogus monies could help furnish his anticipated 200,000 jobs he promised to crate during the electioneering campaign period; adding, “the bill becoming a law will put more financial burden on the state coffer.
The group however give the legislators 7-day ultimatum to revert what they acclaimed as anti-peoples bill or face total rejection.
