OKOWA WILL PURSUE DELTA BEYOND TRIBE AGENDA—OKWUOFU

BY OMOS OYINBODE, ASABA
Chief (Mrs.) Nkem Okwuofu, former Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, has said that the incoming government of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa in Delta State would pursue a Delta Beyond Tribe, an agenda which would incorporate all parts of Delta State into the development plan of his government.
Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa

Okwuofu made the declaration when she received two executive members of Anioma World Assembly, an association of Anioma leaders in the Diaspora, who are working for the actualization of Anioma Governor in the April 11 Governorship election in the state.

Okwuofu, who is currently the Director of Mobilisation of the PDP Campaign Organisation in Delta State, said Okowa is set to present a Pan Delta Agenda, an agenda which has no tribal sentiment and all encompassing, just as she said Okowa sees the entire Delta as his own constituency.
She commended the Diasporans   for being supportive of Okowa’s emergence just as she charged them to organise youths who could be dependable, loyal and not thugs that disrupt smooth conduct of elections.
She condemned the practice of employing youths as thugs saying “we don’t want youths that carry guns, not youths that are trouble makers, we are molding youths that could be future leaders, not just future but leaders in today’s world”.
Okwuofu said the desire of every Nigerian is a violent free election at all levels, , hence she said “we should not use our youths for thuggery, we need youths we can be proud of and those we can recommend and have respect for elders”.
Earlier, Chairman of the group, Tom Mbukama, said the visit to Okwuofu was to thank her for her role in the Delta Agenda and ensuring the emergence of an Anioma Governor to pilot the affairs of Delta State for the next four years.
Speaking through the Strategic Committee Chairman, Rev. Francis Ukwuamedua, Mbukama said the group was working assiduously to ensure the emergence of Okowa on the April 11 Governorship elections.
Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of a letter of commendation to Okwuofu and T-shirts in support of Okowa’s campaign team in the state.
