Okowa congratulates Arise News on 10th anniversary
Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Delta, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated the Chairman, Prince Nduka Obaigbena and Management of Arise News on the 10th anniversary of the media organization.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, Okowa said that the Arise News’ debut and impact on the media industry was pace-setting and phenomenal.
He stated that Arise News which broadcasts 24 hours from its studios in London, New York, Lagos and Abuja, braced all odds to gain prominence in the industry.
Similarly, Okowa congratulated THISDAY Newspaper, a sister organisation in Arise News Group, on its 28th anniversary.
He said that the influential newspaper which hit the newsstands on January 22, 1995, had carved a niche for itself in business and politics reporting.
He said that the newspaper performed very well to have won the Newspaper-of-the-Year Award for three consecutive years and for becoming the first Nigerian newspaper to introduce full colour printing in 1997.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate the Chairman, Prince Nduka Ogbaigbena, management and staff of Arise News and THISDAY Newspapers on the occasion of their 10th and 28th anniversary.
“As a government and as people from your home state of Delta, we are proud of the outstanding accomplishments of the premier media outfits and their contributions to the journalism profession as the watchdog of the society.
“As members of the Fourth Estate of the realm, your ‘Arise Morning Show’ has always provided a platform for the analysis of news and happenings across the country.
“We congratulate you on this milestones and wishing you greater success in the future,” the governor stated.
