Yuletide: Edo police warn criminals, parade 52 suspects
The Edo State Police Command has paraded 52 criminal suspects apprehended in the state over alleged offences ranging from armed robbery, conspiracy, kidnapping, murder to cultism.
The command has also assured residents of adequate security during and after the yuletide even as it warned criminals to relocate from the state or be prepared to face the full wrath of the law.
The Commissioner of Police in Edo State Mr Chris Ezike stated these while parading the suspects before newsmen at the state police command headquarters in Benin City, yesterday.
Among the suspects were Anuke Godwin, 47, Baboo Henry, 27, Benjamin Aaron, 28, and Oba Oduaron, 40 alleged to have trailed their victim from a bank and robbed him of the sum of N1.5million in Benin City, last month.
The suspects were said to be inter-states robbers who killed one of their victims in previous operation in the state capital.
Two of them confessed to have from Delta State stormed Benin City for the operation.
CP Ezike also disclosed the arrest of one Dennis Osifo and Igbigbi Michael who allegedly robbed a woman at Igueze village in Ovia South-west local government area of Edo State, last month.
The commissioner disclosed that five suspects have been arrested in connection to the bank robbery at Igara town the administrative headquarters of Akoko-Edo local government area, last month.
He further stated that 19 AK47 rifles, three T06 rifles and 41 AK47 magazines among other items were recovered from the hoodlums.
Some of the suspects interviewed by our reporters admitted the crime.
Arms, ammunition and other exhibits were paraded with the suspects.
