Ohworode: Do Not Spend Your Time Halfway With Sychophant, Anglican Priest Charges Delta Gov-Elect

The Archbishop of Bendel Province/Bishop Anglican Diocese of Ughelli, the Most Rev.Cyril.O. Odutemu Ph.D, JP has called Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Delta State Governor-Elect not to spend his time halfway with sychophants.
Most Rev. Odutemu handed down the charge during a homily he delivered as part of activities marking the rites of passage of the Ohworode of Olomu, Kingdom, HRM.(Dr )Richard Layeguen Ogbon Ogoni-Oghoro I JP who passed into eternal glory at the top age of 106 years.
According to Archbishop Odutemu, “Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is already concluding his administration, do not spend your time halfway with sychophants.
As you begin your tenure under God, know that there’s time for everything. I do not see you spending four years in office. I see you spending eight years in office.”
Archbishop Odutemu urged the Governor-elect to do everything within his limit,power and time to attract meaningful development to Delta State.
The Cleric added, “if you ask the man you’re going to succeed, he will tell you that there are some things he wanted to do that he couldn’t finish.”
Archbishop Odutemu who earlier paid tribute to the departed Ohworode of Olomu saying,”Papa is a lover of the church. A true child of God who came, who saw and conquered.”
While noting that there’s time for everything, Archbishop Odutemu said the end of the revered monarch has come.
Earlier, , Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa paid a glowing tribute to the departed Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom.
Governor Okowa said, ” give glory to God and not to mourn over the death of our father.”
He noted that there’s a lot of lesson to be learnt from the departure of the reverred monarch.
According to Governor Okowa,”he was a man who was a special breed from God. At age 101-105years, he was still strong to attend our State functions. He can only be by the blessings of God.”
Governor Okowa described the departed Olomu monarch as a man of wisdom stressing that he was always prayerful.
Governor Okowa of Delta called on Nigerians to play their role in working for the peace, progress and overall development of the nation.
Okowa urged Nigerians to emulate the exemplary lifestyle of the centenarian traditional ruler who was dedicated to the peace, unity and development of his kingdom and beyond.
He said that the call had become necessary as it would go a long way in helping the country to regain its lost glory among the comity of nations, adding that every Deltan and every Nigerian should work towards making the state and the country great.
Former President of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor who was in attendance also paid glowing tribute to the revered monarch saying, “he was a true Christian to the core. I feel very proud to talk about him anytime.”
Pastor Oritsejafor prayed for the children of the revered monarch.
Present at the colourful event were Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Pa Sam Amuka, Publisher of the Vanguard Newspapers and many others.
