Obaseki Commends Okowa’s Commitment to Education

The principal, State School of Midwifery Amukpe Sapele, Delta State Mrs. M.U. Obaseki has appreciated the unflinching effort of the Delta State Governor in his total commitment to the overall development of education in the state among other developmental strategies he has put in place.

Mrs. Obaseki who delivered her address on the occasion of the 2015, Cultural Day Ceremony of the students week at the institution, said few months into the administration of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, he has been able to take education to the next level.

She appealed to the Governor to come to the aid of the school by looking critically into the issue of “fencing off” the road that transverse the school premises as a way forward to secure lives and properties in the school, the employment of security men, landscaping of the school compound, building of hostel accommodation for students and the provision of 32-Seater Coaster Bus.

The President Student Union Government (S.U.G) of the institution, Comrade Udubrai Precious appreciated the effort of this set of students in the school for their input and effort which ensured that another edition of the school magazine was produced after a long period of break, explaining that the event was also meant for the launching of the 2nd edition of the midwives world magazine, just as he appealed to the incoming members of the S.U.G. to endeavour to launch the 3rd edition of the same magazine.

She appreciated the effort of the institution academic staff especially Mr. Tadaferua Dennis who work tirelessly with the Auditor and other members of the Student Union body to ensure that the launching become a reality.

The 2015 students week celebration of the State School of Midwifery Amukpe Sapele, Delta State featured symposium, lectures, seminars, football march, old school days, drama presentation, visitation to Central Hospital Wards where gift items were presented to patients on sick beds, cultural dance, launching of the school 2nd edition of their magazine, etc.

Meanwhile, the institution has also marked their end of year/Xmas Carol programme for 2015, with the first lesson of the day taken from Gen. 3:1-7 by Pastor Felix Ogheneovo, Fourth lesson Luke 1-39 by Mrs. M.U. Obaseki – the principal of the school, fifth lesson Luke 1:46 by Dr. J.U. Uyovwiefevwa Primary Health Coordinator Ethiope East Local Government Area while brief exhortation came from the school Chaplain Pastor Felix Oghenero as Mrs. Charity Inaya represented the Zonal Matron in charge of Sapele Medical Zone.
