Emerhor withdraws suit against Aguariavwodo

The legal suit brought by Olorogun Otega Emerhor challenging the
competence of the candidacy of Senator Emmanuel Edesiri Aguariavwodo
to contest the Delta Central Senatorial District bye election has been
withdrawn.
In a statement duly signed by the solicitor to Olorogun Emerhor and
made available to newsmen in Warri said that Emerhor having considered
the interest of the Urhobo Progress Union and the entire Urhobo People
decided to withdraw the case he filed at the Federal High Court Abuja
against Senator Aguariavwodo to contest the Delta Central Senatorial
District bye election held October 2013 following the sudden and
untimely demise of late Senator Pius Akpo Ewherido,
He disclosed that the withdrawal was meant to sustain reconciliatory
interventionist effort of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) which was
sustained by the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Professor Amos Agbe
Utuama (SAN) by which the unity and political harmony in Urhoboland
were considered paramount.
According to him “As a result of the amicable understanding, Olorogun
Otega agreed to and has filed a motion at the Federal High Court Abuja
to terminate forthwith the case he instituted against Senator Emmanuel
Edesiri Aguariavwodo who presently represents the Delta Central
Senatorial District in the Senate”
He affirmed that as part of out of court resolution of the dispute, it
was expected that the two cases filed by the Deputy Governor of Delta
State, Professor Amos Utuama SAN and Olorogun John Oguma pending at
the High Court Asaba alleging defamation against Olorogun Otega are to
be withdrawn by them.
