The Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) today advised the president-elect, Major, General Muhamadu Buhari (rtd) to appoint credible Nigerians with integrity into his cabinet, the agencies, commission and boards in the country to ensure good governance.

This advice was given in a statement signed by the National Coordinator/CEO, CEPEJ, Comrade Sheriff Mulade and made available to our correspondent in Warri, Delta State.

They charged the incoming government not to betray the confidence that Nigerians reposed in the president-elect by appointing politicians without questionable character.

CEPEJ urged the president-elect to shun and beware of politicians who are being probed by anti-graft agencies such as EFCC and ICPC.

The NGO also wanted the APC-led government to fulfill its promises made during electioneering campaigns towards eradicating corruption from all sectors of the nation’s economy beginning with the cabinet members.

The statement read: “CEPEJ urges the president-elect not to be father to all, irrespective of religious, ethnic and regional differences and express love and care to all Nigerians.

“The Center advises all political parties, Nigerians, corporate and professional bodies to work with the president-elect to fast track the change needed in the Nigerian economy.

“CEPEJ, therefore, calls on the president-elect to run an all-inclusive and transparent administration, as well as declare a state of emergency on corruption as no meaningful development can take place in a corrupt society.”

The NGO also advised the president-elect to re-introduce the War Against Indiscipline (WAI), adding that an average Nigerian man lacks discipline and that this does not project the country in good light.
