JONATHAN HAS DONE WELL FOR NIGERIANS –OJOUGBOH
BY OMOS OYINBODE, ASABA
South South Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan had done a lot for Nigerians particularly in the execution of people oriented projects as clearly articulated in the transformation agenda of his administration.
To this end, he called on all Nigerians to vote massively for Jonathan so as to continue in his transformation programme and leave behind a lasting legacy for the generations yet unborn.
Ojougboh, who was addressing PDP stakeholders and party faithful at a town hall meeting in Asaba, Delta State capital, added that the re-election of President Jonathan would translate to a better life for all Nigerians.
He said he was optimistic that Jonathan would win the election with a landslide victory following the overwhelming reception in the zones he visited, the endorsements and the need for him to complete the good work he has been doing across the country.
On the chances of other PDP candidates at the polls, Dr. Ojougboh expressed optimism that the party would win the election and charged all eligible voters in Delta State to collect their permanent voter’s cards to enable them vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and all PDP candidates in the election.
However, Ojougboh accused INEC Chairman, Prof. Atahiru Jega, of appointing his Special Assistant to singlehandedly nominate and compile names of collation officers for the Presidential election in the 36 states and Abuja without recourse to INEC State Commissioners.
Dr. Ojougboh described such development as worrisome more so, when investigations had revealed that the said, Professor Okuna is bonafide and card carrying member of the opposition party, the APC.
The South-South Zonal Vice Chairman of the PDP expressed disgust over the arrangement saying that such action was suspicious and cautioned INEC against unholy alliance capable of jeopardizing the forth coming General Elections.
The state PDP Governorship candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, assured the Zonal working committee of the party that Delta State was prepared to deliver PDP at the polls saying that victory is assured for the party.
Earlier, the state chairman of the PDP Chief Edwin Uzor said Delta state PDP was ready for the election adding that the excellent track records of performance of the PDP would give the party edge over other parties in Delta State
