As the race to government house ,Asaba in 2015 deepens, Urhobo Youths Emancipation Network (UYEN), a political pressure group in Unenurhie town, Ughelli North, Local Government Area of Delta State has thrown its weight behind the governorship ambition of Olorogun O’tega Emerhor (OON) of the APC in Delta State.

O’tega Emerhor

Speaking with our correspondent during an enlarged meeting of the group at Ughelli, the chairman of the group, Prince Young Erhiurhoro, appealed to the leadership of the UPU to always stand by their words in respect of the “Uvwianuge Declaration” so that the Urhobo can produce the governor for the state come 2015.

“The battle is now clear, let UPU and  all Urhobos  join forces together to retain our lost crown and glory. The tide is now flowing to the APC since PDP did not give their ticket to an Urhobo man. Let’s forget about party affiliations. This is an Urhobo cause and  Urhobo dream. We must not allow it to scatter and get our future ruined with some little chips,” Prince Young said.

When asked about the aim and mission of the political group, Prince Young said, the group was formed in 2012 to emancipate and liberate the teeming youths of the Urhobo nation. He said their major responsibility is to organize skills acquisition programmes in order make the youths self-employed. Prince Young Erhiurhoro, the leader of UYEN, therefore appealed to Urbobo politicians to key into the UYEN dream by supporting them financially.

In a similar development, the Ughelli south APC councillor candidates of the last Delta State Council polls under the aegis of Ughelli South APC Councillor Forum (USACF) has felicitated with APC governorship candidate, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, the Delta Central Senatorial District candidate, Chief Adelabu Bodjor and the Ughelli South/Ughelli North/Udu Federal Constituency candidate, Hon. Barr. Andrew Orugbo on their victory at the APC primaries held recently.

In a statement issued by Hon. Dase Amos Agberia and Hon. Civilian Dada, Chairman and Secreatry respectively at the end of the USACF meeting at Out-Jeremi in Ughelli South LGA of Delta State, the APC councilors candidate congratulated the winners of the APC primaries to fly the party’s flac in the forthcoming general election.

The USACF vowed to work one hundred percent to usnsure that they deliver Emerhor and other APC candidates in all units at their various wards.

The forum called on all residents of Ughelli South, Delta Central, Urhobo and indeed Deltans to join the moving train irrespective of their political parties, affiliation and come out en mass to vote for O’tega Emerhor and other APC candidates, adding that Emerhor is the messiah that will deliver Deltans to the promise land and bring about the need change.

Meanwhile the Urhobo Restoration Agenda (URA) has appealed to the Governorship candidate of Labour Party (LP), Chief Great Ogboru to make sacrifice for the Urhobo nation, by supporting Olorogun O’tega Emerhor of APC.

In a Publication by its National President, Chief Etachiko Omonigho and National Secretary, Comrade Oghenovie James, the group wrote that: “Our appeal to Ogboru, we believe that if Ogboru would put Urhobo first, as Urhobo has done to him in the past 12 years, he should forge alliance with the APC candidate to present a more formidable front in order to actualize the Urhobo governorship quest in 2015.

“So what we are asking the ‘People’s General’ to do is not out of order, if Ogboru interest is to salvage Delta State and better the lots of Urhobo nation, he should please join forces with O’tega Emerhor in APC to free Delta State from the grip of the Ibori/Uduaghan political dynasty that has plundered the commonwealth of the state in the last 16 years. We believe this is not too much to ask from Ogboru who the Urhobo nation has given much. The mark of a great leader is measured by how much sacrifice he can make for his people,’’ the group said.
