Gbaramatu Youths Calls For Arrest Of Ejele Over Inciting Ethnic Crisis

Ogheneruona Tejiri, Warri
Gbaramatu Youth Development Association a.k.a Gbaramatu Youth Council has called on security agencies to arrest Hon. Michael Dixon aka EjeleDelta politician, Prince Michael Diden a.k.a Ejele, over inciting calls on the people of Itsekiri to go to war with the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom.
The youths led by Comr. Kingsley Arerebo, their President made the call at a media briefing in Warri, Delta State, following widely circulated videos of Hon. Diden directing his kinsmen to attack men of Gbaramatu who allegedly, under the guise working with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited invade their communities to cause mayhem.
Reading the statement signed by Comr Erike Tarike, Secretary , Gbaramatu Youth Council and made available to journalists, described Ejele’s assertions as dangerous and “malicious which could incite ethnic conflict and disrupt public order particularly targeted at Gbaramatu Kingdom.
Come. Arerebo emphasized that Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited is a company and national security contractor with employees who cut across several ethnic Nationalities including thousands of youths of Itsekiri origin.
While calling on the Federal Government to take the threats issued by Ejele, one time candidate of the PDP for Delta South Senatorial District seriously, Gbaramatu Youth Council wondered why the calls for attacks on Tantita operatives performing their legitimate duties, particularly when oil thieves allegedly use Itsekiri communities as cover for their illegal activities.
According to the youth body, “Ejele’s attempt to incite Itsekiri youths against Tantita employees, who are carrying out national assignments, is both dangerous and deeply irresponsible.
“The oil and gas industry has suffered for years from illegal bunkering and vandalism. Since its inception, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has recovered billions of dollars in stolen crude, disrupted illegal refining operations and contributed significantly to environmental protection.”
The youth body added, “perhaps Diden is unaware that oil-bearing communities, including Itsekiri areas, benefit directly from Tantita’s operations. The 3% allocation for community development under the Petroleum Industry Act can only be fully realized when oil infrastructure is protected from sabotage. To suggest that Tantita should stand down because oil thieves use local communities as cover is to imply that these communities should remain underdeveloped.”
Speaking further, they added, “as already stated, Tantita’s workforce includes Nigerians from various ethnicities, working alongside the military and other government agencies. Any claim that Tantita is ‘invading’ ethnic communities is not only false, but also an insult to the Nigerian Armed Forces who collaborate in these security efforts.
“We challenge Mr. Diden to provide verifiable evidence of any such invasion. No such record exists. His claims are a smokescreen designed to protect illegal operations that impoverish our people and devastate the environment.”
Restating Gbaramatu Kingdom’s commitment to peace, the youths said they would not yield to the dangerous provocations.
They implored the Itsekiris to reject the “divisive rhetoric”, pointing out that the “true enemies are not those securing national assets, but those exploiting the region’s resources for personal gain.
They further called on the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Police Force, and the Nigerian Navy to commence immediate investigation of Ejele.
