Enugu NIESV holds seminar today

The Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyor and Valuers (NIESV) Enugu state branch in conjunction with Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON) will today hold a one day mandatory continuing  professional and development seminar.

The Seminar with the theme ‘The Place of Facility Management in Sustaining Assets Value in Nigeria’ will hold at Oaklands Event Centre, Enugu state.

Typical issues to discourse at the seminar include, Facilities Management Services; Entrepreneur Perspectives, Modern Trends in Facility Management as Panacea of Sustaining Assets Values in Nigeria and Effective Facility Management: Key to Assets Values Sustainability.

Guest Speakers confirmed for the seminar are Professor of Estate Management and Dean, Faculty of Environmental Studies at University of Uyo, Nigeria Dr. Godfrey Okon Udo, Chairman, NIESV Property Facility Management, Pastor Stephen Jagun (FNIVS, CFM, FRICS) and Assistant General Manager, Facilities Management, Enugu Electricity Distribution Company.

Dr. Udo was formerly at University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. His research interests include the evolution of real estate markets in traditional societies, application of ICT skills in Property Valuation, Project Management and Facility Management.  His current teaching interests in Estate Management include Property Investment Valuation, Environmental Valuation and Economics, and Facility Management, particularly their application in developing economies.

He is the author of two books, A Guide to Modern Research Methods and Model Building in Property Valuation. He contributed to the manual adopted by the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers for the Test of Professional Competence. As external examiner to many Universities, he has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Estate Management education and research in Nigeria.

Dr. Udo is consultant to organizations seeking ways to improve productivity by applying information technology and entrepreneurship considerations. He has consulted and led projects for several Real Estate firms in Nigeria and other organizations including ExxonMobil, Central Bank of Nigeria and other Commercial banks. He has given plenary and invited lectures on various aspects of facility management, valuation and appraisal of real estate and the implication of the global business environment, entrepreneurial considerations in real estate curriculum development and practice.
