Tidi condoles with Gov. Okowa over father’s death
The immediate past Chairman of Warri South Council Area, Dr Michael Tidi, on Thursday commiserated with the family of the number one citizen of the state, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, over the death of his father, Sir Arthur Okowa
The patriarch died at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, after a brief illness. He was aged 87.
Sir Arthur Okowa was born in 1932 in Owa Alero, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The death is coming barely hours after the news of the death of Majority Leader of the the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Tim Owhefere.
Dr Tidi in a statement made available to Journalists in Warri said, “We have lost a great man whose contributions to the growth and development of Delta and Nigeria can best be described as inspirational and worthy of emulation.
“He will be sorely missed by all and sundry whose lives he affected in one way or the other.
“We share in your sorrow and pains at this period and we pray that God will grant you and your entire family, the courage to bear the loss even as we pray for the repose of the soul of your departed father.
“On behalf of my family, the good people of Warri South, I mourn with my Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, on the passing of his beloved father, Sir Arthur Okowa.”
