DO AWAY WITH FEDERAL CHARACTER…… CLERIC URGED NIGERIAN LEADERS

A Cleric, Bishop Dele Oladipupo, has raised alarm over the incalculable damage the controversial federal character syndrome has done to the nation’s economy, describing it as retrogressive and evil.
According to him, any nation that wants to progress should do away with it and encourage capable hands to handle the machinery of government.
Oladipupo who is the presiding Bishop of Resurrection Praise Ministries International for Africa, based in Effurun, Delta State raised the alarm when he spoke with Journalists in warri at the weekend.
“The controversial issue of federal character has contributed largely to the backwardness of this country.  Most unfortunately, it is not only killing the unit y of the great nation, rather, it is encouraging disunity”, said Dr. Oladipupo, insisting that the canker worn must be up rooted to give way to progress and development.
His words:, “we should endeavour to allow the best hands to be in government to enable rapid unity and progress. It’s said in the Bible that righteousness exalt a nation while sin is a reproach”.
On the 53rd Independence anniversary, the cleric lamented that the country is not progressing as expected, adding that instead of moving forward, Nigerians are building hurdles capable of drawing us backward.
He charged Nigerians to work harder in order to move that nation forward, stressing that everybody should be involved in the process of making Nigeria one of the great nation in the world.
“I plead with every Nigerian, both in government circle, politicians, market women and even those in private sector to continue to do the right thing so that it will be well for this country”, pleaded the warri based cleric.
He maintained that capable people of impeccable character should be allowed to rule this country in 2015 political dispensation so that Nigeria will again move forward.
