The Executive Director of Projects at the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Ebenezer Okorodudu, has called for enhanced collaboration between the Commission and the Warri South Local Government Council to foster development in the oil-producing communities.

Chief Okorodudu made the call on Wednesday, 29th January, during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, at the council’s Secretariat in Warri.

He was accompanied by top management staff of DESOPADEC, including Engr. Friday Money, Head of the Works Department; Mr. Festus Ifowodo, Head of the Utility Department; Engr. Oloko Elliot, Head of Projects Monitoring and Evaluation; and other key stakeholders.

Okorodudu, who recently completed a familiarization tour of DESOPADEC’s mandate areas, highlighted that Warri South, as both a host to DESOPADEC’s corporate office and an oil-producing community, holds a key position in the Commission’s developmental goals.

He emphasized the importance of establishing a robust partnership with the local government to accelerate the development of grassroots communities.

“DESOPADEC was created to address the needs of oil-producing communities, and Warri South is one of the most critical areas.

“I am here to request your support for a stronger partnership between DESOPADEC and Warri South Local Government to enhance progress, particularly in infrastructure and community services,” Okorodudu stated.

The Executive Director expressed his commitment to open communication and collaboration, offering to make DESOPADEC’s doors open to the local government for any initiatives aimed at benefiting the community.

In response, Hon. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro expressed his appreciation for the visit and pledged his support for a collaborative effort to drive growth and development in Warri South.

The Warri South Council boss alongside the Head of Personnel Management of Warri South, Mrs. Remi Omatsuli, Chairman of NULGE Warri South, Comr. Raymond Emiko and other department heads received the DESOPADEC Executive Director.

Agbateyiniro, commended Okorodudu for his leadership and assured him of his dedication to strengthening the partnership for the welfare of the people.

The visit harped on the importance of partnership between governmental and developmental agencies to ensure the sustainable growth of oil-producing communities in Delta State.
