Delta Publishers Passes Confidence Vote On Obiemenyego Leasership

Members of the Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN), Delta State Council have passed a Vote of Confidence on the leadership of her Chairman, Comr. Jude Obiemenyego .
The confidence vote was unanimously passed on Comr. Obiemenyego at an enlarged meeting held at the Association’s Secretariat in Asaba during a
peace meeting brokered by Olorogun Festus Ahon, Chief Press Secretary(CPS) to the Governor who was represented by Prince Orhomunokpaye, Senior Special Assistant (SSA)to the Governor on Community Newspapers.
At the meeting, Dr. Dike Awana moved the motion and was unanimously passed.
Comr. Obiemenyego said that ACNPN remains a united and strong umbrella body for Community Newspaper Publishers in the State .
He announced that the Association had given waiver for three re-admitted publishers, Chief Femi Odonmeta, Publisher of Warri Voice Newspaper, Chief Daniel Ekiugbo, Publisher of Ugheli Times, and Dr Dike Awana, Publisher of Frontline News, noting that they will also have to meet up with certain Constitutional requirements in order to strengthen their membership.
Responding in their separate remarks, Olegua Odonmeta of the Warri Voice pledged to work in harmony with the Constitution of the Association.
He noted that with his age, he is prepared to offer an advisory role to the Association adding that he would not vie for any position in the Association again.
Also Speaklng, Chief Daniel Ekiugbo appreciated the house for holding forth all these while they have been away, sustaining the ideals of the founding fathers of the Association, he promised to follow all constitutional procedures of the Association as for smooth co-existence.
Dr. Awana noted that despite his absence from the activities of the Association, he had always shown concern on the wellbeing of the Association and also promised that he will abide by the constitutional provisions of the Association.
He commended the Chairman,Comr. Obiemenyego and the house for their doggedness and perseverance over the years.
Thereafter, members of the Association paid a solidarity visit on the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olorogun Ahon in his office at the Government House.
Addressing the members of the Association in his office, Olorogun Ahon congratulated Comr.Obiemenyego and members of the Association for towing the path of peace.
He added that in achieving the M-O-R-E Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori , all stakeholders including the Association must operate in a rancorous free atmosphere.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor disclosed that the government is open to constructive criticism and not destructive reports that is capable of pulling the government down.
He then appealed to all members of Association to work peacefully with the leadership of Comr. Obiemenyego and also help in publicizing the many good works of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
