Okowa promises to support LG pay salaries, agricultural programme, health care

The Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has promised to support Local Government in the area of workers’ salaries, Health care, skill acquisition, training of youths and stable power supply if elected.

Okowa made this known recently at a town hall meeting held at Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area, Sen.  Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa commended the people of Isoko North for their support to the PDP led Government and all the candidates of the party in the area.

In his words “It’s difficult for Government to attend to all community issues and their needs but we will try our best to support local government in the area of workers’ salaries, Health care, skill acquisition, training of youths and stable power supply.  Also, emphasis shall be placed on Agricultural Development Programme for self-reliance and revenue generation in the council.” He however concluded by soliciting the support of Isoko North to vote Goodluck Jonathan and PDP.

The enlarged Town Hall meeting raised salient issues of vital relevance to ensure victory for the party just as questions from the electorates presented the plight of the area before Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and other candidates.  Among the participants were Barr.  Oroghene Agadiagho who asked why the Ughelli-Asaba Dualization was taking forever to complete, mass employment by the incumbent governor of over a 1,000 workers who will be on probation without salaries when he has from now till May to complete his tenure; what is to be expected from the politicians as regards Isoko North in areas of social amenities including access roads Networks.

Others were Engr. Henry Odhegolor, Comr. Marcus Ogbiafo, Moses Akpotobor, and Engr. Dr. Goodnews Agbi that drew attention to the lack of Government Schools in Ozoro, low acquisition of PVC’s by electorates, abandonment of Emevor-Isi-Orogun road, while suggesting ways to attain overwhelming victory for the party.

Responding, Senator James Manager, Comr. Ovuzourie Macaulay noted that, the Emevor – Orogun road has been a project of urgent priority assuring that, the project is awaiting to be awarded by NDDC, they drew attention to Alaka Grammar School, Ozoro built by Leo Ogor, the ongoing Igbonine modern Secondary School as testimonies of Governments performance in Ozoro as regards education but assured that, the Ughelli-Asaba dualization will kick off as soon as compensation are paid to affected private individuals in a short period of time.

Meanwhile a socio-cultural and Political body, Isoko North Unity Group under the Leadership of Bro. Emmanuel Ogidi has unanimously resolved to vote for all The People’s Democratic Party candidates in the general elections.

The President of the Group Bro. Emmanuel Ogidi made this known after the town Hall meeting adding that, the party has a well mapped out ideologies with adequate structure of grassroots mechanism that has positioned the party for success.

Other members of INUG who spoke in the same direction were Sir, Dr. Patrick Akporuno, Hon. Chief Gabriel Alebe, Hon. Ovie Oghoore and Miss Beauty Cameroon, they endorsed Sen. Dr. A. Ifeanyi  Okowa for Governor, Sen. James Manager for Senate, Delta South Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Leo Ogor House of Representative Isoko Federal Constituency and Hon. Barr Tim Kome Owhefere for Delta State House of Assembly,  Isoko North Constituency I, just as they averred that, the group was 100% committed to the victory of the party without qualms and total dedication to enthrone a government that will relief the plight of the masses through democratic gains.
