Wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Roli Nere Uduaghan yesterday urged all Delta Women to vote for the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa in next Saturdays election, saying they will benefit more from the government of Okowa.

Deaconess (Mrs.) Roli Nere Uduaghan

Deaconess Uduaghan made this call in Warri, Delta State, while speaking to PDP Delta Central Women in a town Hall meeting.

She lamented that in the last Presidential election, some Delta women did not come out to vote, calling on the women to come out of their comfort zone and participate in the election as that is the only way they could have a voice in the state.

The governor’s wife called on all Delta women to be committed to the April 11 eleven election and ensure that PDP carries the day, noting that they should all arm themselves with their PVCs during the election.

She noted that PDP has done so many good things for the state, stressing that it has been able to sustain peace in the state, stressing that without peace development cannot be achieved in any civilized state.

She said: “PDP has done a lot for the state. One of the greatest achievements of this administration is that it has been able to bring peace to the state. We all know that without peace our women cannot go about their normal petty trading and other things. When there is peace, there will be development in the state. So we must give credit to this government for maintaining this peace that we are now enjoying in the state. Come Saturday I want all of you to go out there and cast you votes for Senator Ifeanyi Okowa. Okowa is our candidate in this election.”

She reminded the Delta Women that the administration of Governor Uduaghan has done a lot for the women in the state, saying that a lot of women in the stste have benefited from the present government.

She decried the way and manner Deltans pour insults on their leaders, adding that such negative comments about the leaders discourage the leaders and stand as stumbling blocks to the progress of such leaders.

While urging the women to come out and vote enmasse for PDP, the governors wife also tasked the women on the need to be vigilant during the election, adding that after voting they should stay behind and monitor what is going in their polling units.

“Let us go back home and spread the message to all the nook and cranny of your community. Tell your neighbors that they should vote for PDP because it the party to beat in this next election. Let us all come out and vote and make sure that PDP becomes victorious at the end of the election. If we do this I am very sure that we will all be blessed. Don’t allow anybody to intimidate you or give you money to walk away.
