Okowa Gets Commendation For Appointing, Empowering Women

The Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has been commended for the appointment and Empowerment of women in his administration.
In her welcome address at the meeting of PDP Women in Delta Central Senatorial District held recently at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Effurun, the Women Leader of the Party in the District, Hon. (Mrs.) Dora Sakpaide, who conveyed the meeting, expressed gratitude to Governor Okowa over the appointment and Empowerment of women in the District in particular and in the state in general.
“We the women of PDP in Delta Central Senatorial District want to commend Governor Okowa for the appointment and Empowerment of women in the District in particular and in the state in general. We are also lauding him for piloting the affairs of the state to greater heights through the SMART Agenda, Prosperity for all Deltans, laudable projects, appointment and empowerment of the women folks in his administration. Also, Her Excellency, Dame Edith Okowa for saving the lives of our children through the 05 Initiative, may God richly bless you”, Mrs . Sakpaide said.
According to the Convener of the meeting; “Like Oliver Twist, we ask for more appointments and empowerment for our women in the Delta Central Senatorial District” and appealed to women in the grassroots to remain focus and work hard to move our PDP forward. She rained praises on Hon. (Barr.) Evelyn Omavowan Oboro, Mrs. Kawulia Omoko, Chief Judith Enamuotor, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori, Barr. (Mrs.) Mary Iyasere, Chief Margaret Unukegwu, Hon. Faith Majemite, Hon. (Mrs.) Stella Dabuner, Mrs. Esther Omene, Chief Grace Aghoghovia, Chief (Mrs.) Roseline Amioku, Hon. (Chief) Eunice Oguma, Philo Ededey and host of others for their support for the Party”.
In her remarks at the well attended event, the Member representing Uvwie, Sapele and Okpe Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Barr. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro, said that; “Today is our day and I have decided to come here in order to spread the dividends of democracy programme to my people”.
While appealing to the women to fully participate in the political system in order to better their lives, she promised to speak with the State Governor in assisting the women with contract, urging Delta State PDP women to work, campaign and vote for PDP in the next 2019 general elections.
Speaking, PDP Delta Central Chairman, Chief Patrick Fovie, who doubled as the Chairman of the occasion said that;”I feel honoured declaring this general meeting open. I am surprised to see these calibre of women that are present here today with so much love for our party, PDP.”
According to him;” the purpose of this general meeting is to affirm that Delta State belongs to PDP and the almighty PDP belong to Delta State. You know the largest number of voters come from the women and youths. Women are the greatest voters and we owe the women high esteem. Delta State politics cannot move to the Promised Land without the women”

Also speaking, the State PDP Women Leader, Hon. Omoko Kawulia showered encomiums on Hon. Barr. Evelyn Oboro for her assistance and the Convener of the meeting, Hon. (Mrs.) Dora Sakpaide in ensuring that the occasion was successful.
She explained that the meeting was to sentisize the women on the need to unite together and love one another, saying that;”Let us work together as a family. We need to familiarize ourselves in order to tackle our problems; we should be firm and remember no women, no politics”.
