Nigeria @ 60: Let’s stay united, despite the challenges – Tidi advises
Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, has called on Nigerians to stay united, despite the obvious challenges confronting the country.
Dr. Tidi, made the call Thursday October 1, during an interview at Asaba, the Delta State Capital, shortly after the match past organized by the Delta State Government, to celebrate Nigeria’s 60th Independence anniversary.
The Warri South Council Boss, who thanked God for the milestone the country has attained at 60, noted that the theme for this year’s Independence celebration, which is , ” Togetherness”, was quite catchy and apt.
According to him, some Nations which faced similar challenges as Nigeria in the past, separated, but Nigeria remains together and united.
Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Chief ( Mrs.) Divine Iniovosa, who also spoke, expressed delight for the peaceful celebration and enjoined women to mark the occasion with their families.
Warri South Council Head of Personnel Management and Wife of former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Dr. ( Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude, stated that despite all the bottlenecks in the country, Nigerians are very happy people.
While stating that women are vital in Nation building, Dr. Igbrude, admonished them to take care of their husbands and children amid consistent prayers, saying a prayerful Nation, is a powerful Nation.
Highlight of the celebration, was the match past by different security and paramilitary institutions, political associations as well as representatives from the 25 local government councils in Delta State, including a colourful delegation from Warri South Local Government Council.
