By Our Correspondent
Orphans in Children Revolution Foundation (CRF) will forever remember the yuletide season as they got awarded scholarship, free medical treatment and food items when The Deputy Majority leader of the House of Representatives, Hon Leo Okuweh Ogor and friends visited them.
Ogor took it upon himself to spend the yuletide with the orphans by visiting the Ascension Grace Outreach Centre situated at Irri, Isoko South local Government area of Delta state with friends and associates. According to him “he embarked on this noble gesture because he is proud to associate with the kids, and also it affords me with an opportunity to identify with them when they need it most because it is during periods like this that they feel the vacuum created by their biological parents when they chose to abandon them .”
Speaking further, he said he got the inspiration to embark on this journey from the book of Matthew chapter 25:35 when Jesus said ‘I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me’.
On his part the founder of the Children Revolution Foundation Rev. Precious Abraham appealed to the visitors present to help often and not relent as the number of abandoned babies is on the increase daily and they need more hostel accommodation for the orphans and workers, medical supplies, toiletries, food stuff, cash and scholarship fund to send the grown up children to school.
He however thanked the federal lawmaker for his immense contribution towards the new hostel building which is currently under construction. Highpoint of the celebration was the provision of well garnished refreshment for the kids, cash donations and pledge made by associates of the federal lawmaker, scholarship award given to one of the orphan by Pharm. Dr. Nelson Ejakpovi, free medical services provided by Dr. Paul Oweh and pledge of free bags of rice on monthly basis by Barr Paul Emerhana amongst others.
