Delta 2015: I’m Still in the Race – Larry Otu
Francis Sadhere
A Gubernatorial aspirant in Delta State for the February 28th 2015 governorship election, Dr. Larry Otu has assured Deltans that he was still in the race to Government House, Asaba.
In brief chart with National Reformer, at the Benin Airport, the businessman turned politician said that he had never changed his mind of running for the governorship position in Delta State next year.
He advised Governorship aspirants from Delta North to bury their ambition. He specifically implored Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Olejeme and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Ochei, to perish their ambition, saying they had been in corridors of power for too long.
He also noted that the trio from the Northern part of the state had not done any tangible thing for the state to warrant the people voting for them.
He said; “Let me reassure the good people of Delta State once again that I am still very much in the 2015 Governorship race in the state. There is nothing that will make me change my mind.”
He said; “Those aspirants that are coming from the North, what have they done for the state? They have not done anything that will make them say they want to become the governor of Delta State. Let them come out and show us one thing that they have done for the state. What have they contributed to the state that will make them to come and say they want us to vote for them? So you see, they should bury their ambitions because we are now wiser in Delta State.
When asked under which party he will be running, he said he was still consulting, but indications shows that he will be considering contesting under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
