The Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC) of the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF) has threatened governors from the Niger Delta against any form of betrayal.

It warned that it would go after any governor from the region who betrays the current struggle militants have embarked upon, according to a report by Vanguard.

Militants from the region are daily attacking oil installations resulting in low crude oil output and power shortage across the country.

Their threat is barely a day after militants attacked an oil installation around Ogidigben, Warri south west local in Delta state.

Earlier on Friday, a new faceless group called the Voice Delta, with Twitter handle @MangroveDelta said it was against the proposed plan by the federal government to negotiate with the Niger Delta Avengers.

In this new statement, JNDLF, through General Akotebe Darikoro, the commander in charge of general duties on Friday, explained why it did not launch six missiles in the region as it earlier threatened.

Though it agreed to dialogue with the federal government, the group made a seven-point demand to forestall further attacks.

“We shall continue to engage in dialogue if our demands are met.

“Our representatives for the dialogue, especially the governors and others will not betray our demands with the federal government.

“Any betrayal on their own part shall be viewed as betrayal of the entire region and we shall go after them immediately as they know our mode of operation in which they will not escape from us,” the militants said.
