Community Newspaper Publishers Congratulate Ahon On Appointment As CPS.

Delta Community Newspaper Publishers under the aegis of Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN) Delta State Council has Congratulated the Senior Correspondent of Vanguard Newspaper in Asaba, Delta State, Comr. Festus Ahon on his appointment as the Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Rt (Hon) Sheriff Oborevwori.

According to the Statement signed by the Chairman, Comr. Jude Obiemenyego and Secretary, Comr. Mercy Akuba, the Publishers commended Sheriff Oborevwori for choosing him as the Chief Press Secretary to pilot the affairs of the media in his administration.

Th Community Newspaper Publishers said, “the choice of Festus Ahon is a welcome development to the media organisations in the State because he has distinguished himself over the years in the information management of the State. It is an appointment well deserved and we advise that in his capacity as Chief Press Secretart, he should ensure to carry every practicing Publishers/ Journalists along to avoid segregation among the media outfits in the state”

According to the Publishers, “the Association which the Governor, Rt(Hon) Sheriff Oborevwori is the patron, is also looking forward to experience the appointment of Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers. We shall be grateful if the Governor will use his good office to appoint one of our Publishers as Special Assistant on Community Newspapers”.

The Publishers added, “this is necessary, bearing in mind that the media is absolutely indispensable in every administration that tends to anchor its agenda on peace and tranquility for a progressive Delta State.”

They spoke further, “we once again, congratulate Comr. Ahon and pray that God will strengthen him and give him the grace to succeed in his new position as Chief Press Secretary.”
